College Scholarships and High School Visual Arts Awards
Each year, Allied Arts Association is proud to provide area high school art awards, a scholarship to a continuing art student at Columbia Basin College and a regional Master of Fine Arts level scholarship. Applications are accepted in April. Awards and scholarship winners are notified by May 1st each year. The work of all student winners is shown in the Parkside Gallery throughout May each year. On May 16th, 2010 Allied Arts will host an artist’s reception and presentation of awards and scholarships at the Parkside Gallery.
Prospectuses for competition for the high school award are sent to Mid-Columbia area high school art departments. High School seniors may also download the prospectus at this link: Columbia Basin College scholarship recipients are chosen by the CBC Foundation, as part of their own broader competition. The MFA prospectus is sent to universities in Washington, Oregon and Idaho. Second year graduate students in an MFA program are eligible for this scholarship and should contact their graduate advisor for an application.
